Soccer Club

Welcome to the Rivers Baptist Church Soccer Club! We’re a family-orientated, north Brisbane soccer club that provides affordable sport for all ages. We have teams from Tiny Tots (U3-5) and U6 right up to senior mens and womens teams. We play in competitions run by Queensland Christian Soccer Association, Baptist Football Queensland and an Over 45s competition.

***Registration links will open 1 December.

(b) New Tiny Tots (U3-5) can click here and then click Register a new player.

(c) New U6-10 players can click here and then click Register a new player.

(d) New U11-16 can click here and then click Register a new player.

(e) All Seniors (existing and new, men & women): Use this link.

Step 2

Come in on one of our sign-on days and organise payment, ID photos (where necessary) and uniform sizing. Sign-on is on Friday 27 January 2023 6-8pm and Saturday 28 January 2023 8am-2pm, Rivers Baptist Church, 90 Francis Road, Lawnton.

BOTH parts (online and coming in) are needed to register. Simply registering online will not register you as a player. If you have problems, just email riversbaptistsoccer@gmail.com. We will have computers available on the day but the earlier you register online the easier it is to form up our teams.

Registration fees for Tiny Tots are $100, juniors are $200, seniors are $215 for men and $145 for women, and all new players are given a free pair of playing socks and shorts. Jerseys are borrowed by all the players and returned at the end of the season. If you’re registering new players, we will need to see their birth certificate, passport or licence to verify their age.

We take FairPlay vouchers for players under 18 but you must bring them down to sign on. They will cover the first $150 of your registration. If you are still waiting for a voucher, you will need to make full payment and we will refund you once the voucher has arrived. To see if you’re eligible, visit https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/fairplay/apply. The next round will open in January 2023 (date tbc); act fast as they often run out.

Rep soccer – North Zone

Our club is part of the North Zone, the representative zone for the QCSA. Players from U10 to U16s will have trials in early February. Dates for seniors are to be announced in the new year. State Titles will be held over the May long weekend in 2023 up on the Sunshine Coast. All players must register to trial at northzonesoccer.com. Registrations open in the new year.

About our club

All teams (U6 and upwards) train at John Oxley Reserve in Murrumba Downs. Training is usually Wednesday afternoons for juniors and Wednesday nights for seniors. Training starts February or March (depending on age groups), with games starting in March for U6-10 and seniors and April for U11-16 and going until mid-August. Successful teams will have finals through til mid September.

Junior teams play Saturday mornings from 8am to 1pm (younger teams play earlier, older teams play later) and senior teams (men and women) usually play Saturday afternoons. We also have one Friday night over 45s mens team.

Our brand new BFQ Juniors competition sees all Tiny Tots and U6-U10 playing all games at the one location – John Oxley Reserve.  The new BFQ Juniors competition will feature themed weeks during the season (e.g. Zooper Dooper Week, a Pink Week to raise money for breast cancer research, a World Cup week, etc.). A revamp of our fields 2, 3, 4 & 5 will allow us a space on field 2 to conduct Clinics in the morning and also expand our Tiny Tots Program on a Saturday. The price for the new competition will be the same incredibly low cost, however we plan to start the U6-10 season earlier in March with the first two weeks as FREE clinics, and competition games beginning mid-March. We will finish the season at the same time as we currently do (August/September) meaning overall a greater value-for-money offering.

U11-16s play an across-Brisbane competition. Half the games are played at ‘home’, and half will be ‘away’ games played at various south/west locations. These players will also have additional opportunities for coaching clinics, pre-season games & mid-season competitions as well as the usual end-of-season final series.

Seniors play northside locations either Saturday afternoons or Friday nights. Bring your family, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, partners along, the more the merrier. What is better than playing with your mates! Options for fulltime and casual players in some teams.
