We start this morning by acknowledging God’s faithfulness and loving kindness.

Read through these verses from Psalm 118 and praise God together by singing My Lighthouse which reminds us that God is a beacon of light, a fortress that defends, protects, and rescues us from our own doubts.

Psalm 118
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
    His faithful love endures forever.
2 Let all Israel repeat:
    “His faithful love endures forever.”
3 Let Aaron’s descendants, the priests, repeat:
    “His faithful love endures forever.”
4 Let all who fear the Lord repeat:
    “His faithful love endures forever.”
5 In my distress I prayed to the Lord,
and the Lord answered me and set me free.
6 The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?
7a Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me.

Kidz Biz

Families and children, it’s time for you to spend some time together discovering more about Everyday Worship. Watch the next episode of Church Ladies and then download and use the Kidz Biz at Home sheet.

Don’t forget that we also have the Everyday: Following Jesus devotions being added to our church website from Monday to Friday. They’re great to do as a family!

Prayer Time – Renewed Appreciation

Take a few minutes to ask each other to finish this sentence:

COVID-19/our present situation has given me a renewed appreciation/gratitude/thankfulness for …”

Read through this outline and then pray together as households:

Nehemiah 8:10b Do not grieve for the joy of the LORD is my strength.

  • Acknowledge God is Lord of all and sovereign over all the earth.
  • The COVID-19 Crisis has not caught God by surprise. Pray that that God will use this season to bring the realisation that we all need to reach out to God during these times.
  • Pray for forgiveness when we individually and corporately seek to usurp his kingship by going our own way.
  • Pray for leaders in our churches, and in our wider society that they will be led to recognise the sovereignty of God and make decisions in line with his will.
  • Pray prayers of worship and adoration extolling the character and greatness of our God.
  • Pray for the people and situations that God has brought to your attention

Song – Oceans

The song “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” is a Rivers favourite! It recounts Matthew 14:22-33 where Peter is called by Jesus to walk on the water.

What part of the songs is most meaningful to you?

Let’s sing this as a song of faith and trust as we make our way with God into uncertain times.

Responsive Prayer

Lord thank you that with you I am worthy and whole
That I find love, belonging and destiny with you
Make me aware of when I let you down and
Help me to be courageously vulnerable and move toward you
I surrender my failure and shame
Knowing that you will restore me completely

Amen
